For a long time now--in fact, ever since I knew they even existed--I have really wanted the Pioneers of American Industrial Design postage stamps. Today, I finally plucked up and went to the post office, money in hand, to purchase the little beauties.
Then I was informed that, as commemeratives, they are no longer produced.
Bummer.
So, I might just order some from USA Philatelic to satisfy my sincerely HUMUNGOUS want for those stamps!
Instead, I bought some Great Film Directors stamps, commemorating the four fabulously famous film greats John Ford, Bily Wilder, John Huston and Frank Capra. I can't wait to use them! I am also superbly looking forward to the release of both the Miles Davis//Edith Piaf stamps, and then Baseball Legends stamps!! It's going to be a great summer for stamps!
Today I also received some beautiful incoming.
From Australia:
Gorgeous, isn't it? I love how the pastel mint green of the envelope is complimented by the kraft paper and simple torn paper on the envelope. Truly lovely!
And adorned with our lovely Queen, in celebration of her Diamond Jubilee!
Because I was previously unaware as to what "washi tape" was, my penpal adorned her letters with a beautiful selection of washi designs on the top and bottom on her letters.
I now feel informed!
And, I also received some mail from dear E., within America:
I am so excited to send some outgoing! This week, however, is going to be an incredibly crazy week for me, so I don't think I'll be able to send as much mail as I'd like! However, come June 15th -- next Friday -- I'll be so ready to write that no one will be able to stop me! Plus--I'll hopefully have my Olivetti in my possession once again! I sure hope so!
Send mail, send love--
~ Ms. Always Traveling
