NMD

I coined a new acronym, which I am rather happy about--even though I've decided it has a negative connotation. That acronym is:

NMD

// meaning: NO MAIL DAY.

These past few days, I have received no mail. Which is terribly unsatisfiying. But I am sure that mail is on its way and shall arrive in my hands soon.
Until then, my mail is M.I.A. and my NMD continues! Haha!

Have a beautiful day,

How'd You Use That Stamp?!

How'd You Use That Stamp?!

Good question! Let me tell you!
Type: Pioneers of American Industrial Design
To: Florida, USA.
Form: LETTER

Nice choice, I think!

Outgoing

Let's just say that today wasn't a fabulous mail day. In terms of incoming, that is.
Outgoing was all the rage -- I made a fair few letters and postcards, which I can't wait to send on Monday morning, bright and early.

Today was a lovely day outside, but I--regretfully--did not spend it as such. Instead, I slept in until noon and then had a luxurious breakfast, and then wrote letters to a few of the lovely people I've been thinking of as of late.
I didn't go to the beach. I didn't continue my tan lines. I didn't write a rap song. And I didn't remodel my future-bedroom.
I just wrote letters.

And it felt great.

For more information on the piece to Mr. Bill, see my next post.

Now, I'm off for a run.
Time to get out of the house.

Saturday Mail

The mail-person is yet to arrive, and I've caught up on my replies.

Incoming

I keep having such wonderful mail-days that each one supersedes the previous one as "the best mail day". Today was no exception. I only received two letters today, but two that I have been waiting for a long time to receive.

The first was from J., a penpal from Australia:

And the second was from another J., although this one within the United States. Very glad it arrived!

In terms of outgoing, I am sending a letter to my friend B., back in Australia in the hope that his reply this time won't get lost in the mail.

I utilised both the new paper tape, and the new stamps for this "going green" piece!

What did you send out today?
Looking forward to hearing from you readers out there a little more often as I am now able to reply to your comments in a much quicker manner!

Cheers--

The Pictures of the Day!

The mail I sent from Illinois, all replies to letters received whilst in Europe.

A birthday present for a dear friend.

A moustache.

Incoming

Coming back to a pile of mail, as I have said before, is one of the best feelings.
Yesterday was extra special, as I received four letters from four of the most important people in my life. And each of their letters was absolutely gorgeous. I love that kind of mail day.
You don't need a lot of letters to have a good mail day--just some special letters from some very special people.

From my dear friend, the wonderful T.;

From my dear friend, the gorgeous A.;

From my dear friend, the lovely B.;

From my dear friend, the super-duper J.;

Love this kind of mail.
Wish people all over the world were sending more of it.

Back In Boston

Yesterday's afternoon flight brought us back from St. Louis and straight into a dark-skied Boston. After traveling for entire summer up to this point, I am so ready to relax and not do ANYTHING too stressful for the next week. I wrote out a To-Do list this morning and have managed to get a fair bit of it done, but not enough that it is now inexistent.
I have started to compile presents to my dear friends for their birthdays and celebrations, and am super pumped with the new goodies I have collected over the past few days.

Let me show you just what I mean.

I can now finally say that I am on the printed paper tape bandwagon after purchasing my first 8 rolls over the past week! I really love the colours, and the usability of being able to put the tape down, and remove it, and reuse it, and so on and so forth.

This week, I also bought some GORGEOUS "Spam" notecards, of which I have already used two! I also invested in a "Spam" tin, which holds a gift that is being sent to my dear friend A. within the next few weeks!

I also bought two new stamps, which have already adorned four letters sent out today.
A moustache, and a typewriter. What more does one need?

I am a very lucky young lady, indeed!
Send more mail--the world needs it!

In One Of My Favourite Places

Currently enjoying these last days of summer with family in Illinois.
There is no place like the bank of a lake (even in drought), or the kitchen table with family.
Have sent a record amount of mail whilst been here, in reply to a lot of my received mail from being away!

Here are a few pictures, to give you a little taste!

Love the country.

Cornfields a-blazing.

Will be back at "home base" in about a week.

Mail Magic -- The many joys of returning to one's mailbox after a month away.

Heck yes.
I love mail.

Why?

These are just some reasons...

The sheer abundance of joy that awaited me when we got home was breathtaking.

My dear friends and penpals across the world all had a month to catch up on their replies to me, and they sure as heck did just that. I'd love to share some of the gorgeousness with you here--

From my dear A., in Australia.

The beautiful Australia Post fish stamps, from A.'s letter.

ABOVE: Letter from the wonderful B.'s, in Michigan, U.S.A. // BELOW: Their stamps.

From the beautiful C., a dear friend from Florida whilst she travelled in Europe.

Love those English stamps!!

From dear J., within the United States. // And below--her stamp choices.

From penpal L., in Oklahoma!

Love those Miles Davis stamps!

From penpal M., in Hawaii!

Great stamp choices!

From the lovely B., within the United States.
A few of my faves from the above photograph--

He knows I love that typewriter stamp...

Gorgeousness.

Musical perfection....

...and that STAMP!!

Gotta love the food and the accompanying cutlery!

Love. That. Stamp.
Some other wildly wonderful choices made by B--

Jazz.

To make sure the postie knows to send it to me!

The gorgeous stamps on a package from Australia!

Air Mail--YES PLEASE.

My favourite magazine arrived too. Perfect reading material.

And with an article about one of my favourite cities in the world, I about cried with joy.

First letter from new penpal K., in Canada.

And some sweet stamps to boot!

From penpal S., within U.S.A.

Another from penpal S.

First letter from new penpal V., in Spain!
I shall be replying to all of these letters from a seat onboard a flight to Illinois. Can you say handcramps and papercuts? "I think I'm gonna need two complimentary teas for this one, thanks Cheryl."

On a side note, this letter came back to me yet again...

I have no idea why. The address is correct.
I'll have to do some research, because I am sure as heck confused!!
Any ideas?

Hope you've been having a wonderful mail day as well!
